Later this week, we’ll be joining software testing professionals at the STPCon Spring 2019! The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame, California from April 1-4.

What is STPCon 2019? STPCon 2019 (@SoftwareTestPro, #STPCon) serves the global software testing and quality assurance community, providing more than 50,000 professionals with information, education, and professional networking opportunities. It is a premier event where test leadership, management, and strategy converge. Test and QA practitioners gather from across the industry to discuss and amplify practices for agile testing, performance testing, test automation, AI, machine learning, mobile application testing, and test team leadership and management.

We are thrilled to sponsor the event. We will be on-site with the goal to show attendees like you approaches to improve your software testing tooling and methodology, and to help you achieve your professional career goals. We will share Applitools’ AI powered end-to-end visual UI testing and monitoring techniques, and how they support automation and continuous quality. We can talk about how engineers like you have used Applitools Eyes to improve their test processes and increase software productivity.

In addition, we are pleased to announce that our own Senior Developer Advocate, Angie Jones, will be presenting a workshop at the event titled, “Clean Coding Practices for Test Automation.” Angie’s STPCon workshop takes place on April 1 (no joke!), from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (PT) in the Regency C wing of the hotel.

In this workshop, participants will be given a test automation codebase which will be littered with bad coding practices. The initial codebase will include problems such as: Long Class Long Method, Duplication, Indecent Exposure, Inefficient Waits, Flaky Locator Strategies and Multiple Points of Failure. Angie will then walk participants through each one of these problems and discuss why it is considered a violation and what you can do to refactor the code and implement a cleaner approach.

In addition to Angie’s workshop, we are also pleased to share three other talks during STPCon Spring:

Fixing Your Automation Challenges in the Era of CI/CD
Moshe Milman, co-founder and COO, Applitools
Thursday, April 4, 2019, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Test automation is a key challenge that companies are facing in that transition to CI-CD. In Moshe’s talk, he will cover these challenges in detail and demonstrate how successful companies are addressing it.

Spot the Difference: How Front-end and UI Bugs are Hurting You, Your Team and Your Company
Eran Barlev, Senior Engineer, Applitools
Thursday, April 4, 2019, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
During his presentation, Eran will use hilarious and very real-world incidents of GUI Gone Wrong (from the largest global brands!) in order to illustrate the pain of testers when it comes to testing front-end and UI and explain the main differences between functional testing and visual testing.

Demo: Advanced Test Automation Techniques for Responsive Apps and Sites
Yarden Naveh, Director of Customer Success, Applitools
Thursday, April 4, 2019, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
In this session, Yarden will demonstrate a complete Selenium-based automated test for a popular responsive website.

Aside from the talks, you can meet the team, see the best visual testing solution live in action, and grab your “Visual Perfect” swag several times during the conference:

  • Meet and greet reception on Tuesday, April 2 @ 4 pm — where we will give demos and raffle amazing prizes.
