What is Appium Conference (AKA AppiumConf)? AppiumConf (@appium_conf, #AppiumConf) is an annual event hosted by the Appium team, that brings together test automation and mobile testing experts from around the world for three-full days packed with inspiring and practical talks. Manoj Kumar, Senior Technical Consultant @ Applitools, a member of the Selenium Committee, and a Selenium Committer — will give a workshop:

• Workshop: Appium at Scale – Mobile Grid workshop (Thursday, June 13 @ 10:00 a.m. IST)
  About this workshop: Selenium Grid can be a bit daunting to get up and running. Starting it is actually quite easy, but using it effectively often requires the use of third-party tools. In this workshop Manoj covers how to run a grid effectively, using best practices culled from several large grid installations with a hybrid setup for both Selenium and Appium tests.
  This workshop will be presented with Diego Molina, Sr. Software Engineer @ Sauce Labs.

Anand Bagmar, Sr. Solution Architect @ Applitools, will give a workshop and a talk:

• Workshop: Getting Started with Appium (Thursday, June 13 @ 10 am IST)
  About the workshop: At this workshop, you will learn everything from the scratch step by step. We will together understand the key concepts, apply them right there and write our “first test” in Appium. Think of this as a one-day crash course in Appium. The course will be prepared in NodeJS but there will be help for those who want to get started in Java.

• Talk: Testing & Release strategy for Native Android & iOS Apps (Friday, June 14 @ 1:45 pm IST)
  About this talk: Anand will discuss how to enable experimentation, get quick feedback and reduce risk for the product by showing a real-world case study of a media product, used by millions of users across 10+ countries. This talk will cover testing strategy and release process on Android & iOS Native apps that will help enable CI & CD.

Angie Jones, Senior Developer Advocate @ Applitools, will present a talk on the first day of the conference:

• Your Tests Lack Vision: Adding Eyes to Your Automation Framework (Friday, June 14 @ 11:00 a.m. IST)
  About this talk: In this talk, Angie will cover why the top companies in all sectors of the industry are turning to visual validation. Angie will explain how visual validation works, you’ll see a live integration into an existing Appium test code base, and she’ll discuss the pros and cons of using various visual validation techniques.

Justin Ison, Senior Software Engineer @ Applitools, will give his talk on the second day of the conference:

• Appium Native Application Crawler (Saturday, June 15 @ 11:00 a.m. IST)
  About this talk: In today’s agile world the time to market is becoming increasingly shorter. There is a constant desire to release ASAP to keep ahead of the competition and to please users with updated/new features. In this talk, Justin will go over the current challenges faced in today’s development world, why more tools are needed to help keep up with the pace and how to build an Appium crawler.
