Facing Your Rolling Calf
Rolling Calves are spirits or duppy from Caribbean folklore. They invoke fear and fright in a lot of persons. Throughout my life and career, there have been a lot of things that I have been fearful of, from career stagnation, asking for more pay to poverty. These were all fears that had me pause and rethink if I should even face them. They kept me stagnant or pushed me to make rash, unwise decisions. I learned how to address my fears and push through self-doubt, stagnation, and the fear of failure. In today’s session, I will share with you how I overcame one of my greatest fears of career stagnation and pushed through to now being the Head of Training and Development. I will share a four-step process that you can use to address your fear. I will also share how to address some possible fears that you may have such as being ridiculed, doing test automation, career promotions, and confidence.
