Ignore Vertical Shifts
This feature ignores differences that arise from content whose vertical position on the page has changed.
For example, if a paragraph has extra text or an image size increases, the entire page below that paragraph or image may be pushed down by a few pixels. However, apart from being displaced vertically, there may not be any other changes. This option marks a diff only in the paragraph or image with the change and ignores other changes caused by the vertical shift.
This option is only relevant for a match type of strict or ignore colors. Layout match level automatically ignores vertical shifts.
In the following example, an extra sentence was added to the second paragraph, resulting in the entire page below the second paragraph being marked as a diff.
If that screen was set to Ignore vertical shifts and the test was run again, a diff is only identified in the second paragraph.
