TestBash Manchester UK 2918

This week, TestBash Manchester 2018 kicks off, where software testing thought leaders and community members will gather at The Lowry Theatre in Manchester UK for a full week packed of amazing testing talks, workshopsmeetups, and parties.

What is TestBash Manchester? TestBash Manchester (#TestBash) is dedicated to software testing practices, and is just one of the many TestBash events held around the world hosted by our friends at the Ministry of Testing. TestBash Manchester 2018 is taking place September 24 – 29.

In addition to the regular TestBash 1-day conference, which takes place on Thursday Sept 27, this marks the first-ever Test.bash();  targeted software testing conference focussing on technical testing and automation, taking place on Friday September 28.

Over the course of the next several days, TestBash attendees will enjoy a dive deep into topics like test automation, security testing, microservices and more. The conference provides a mix of workshops and speaker sessions designed to give attendees a complete experience with actionable insights they can take home and implement right away.

Angie Jones, Senior Automation Developer Advocate @ Applitools, will host a workshop, “Clean Coding Practices for Test Automation” the morning of September 26. We’re proud to say that this workshop is already sold out! If you are one of the lucky ones who signed up early, Angie will give you a “smelly” test automation code base, which is littered with several bad coding practices. Together, you will walk through each of the smells and discuss why it is considered a violation and then refactor the code to implement a cleaner approach.

If you won’t be attending her workshop, join her for her session “What’s That Smell? Tidying Up Our Test Code” on September 28 at 9:10 a.m. BST. The session will cover similar topics as the workshop, but without the hands-on experience.

We are proud to have Angie on our team. A test automation thought leader, she is an international keynote speaker and has been featured on countless industry podcasts and publications, on top of dedicating time to supporting Black Girls Code. You can learn more about her testing adventures here: http://angiejones.tech/.
